If the owner comes across his/her own bug, are they allowed to move it for points and if so, how often?

That's a valid point. Maybe I'll add that line in. However, the original intention was just as you stated, that points will not be counted if a TB revisited a cache it has already been too (aka...THAT particular cache being visited more than once).

That does bring up something. We recently looked at a TB that had suffered from dipping. A good question would be "Is it okay to delete dipped logs?" That is up to the owner of the TB. It definitely helps with keeping track of points, but after thinking about how this particular TB was handled, if the owner prefers to leave them up, that isn't a problem. If you noticed dipping occuring on yours, handle it how you want. Contact the dipping cacher if you'd like to explain things. Some cachers are more than willing to help you out (one graciously offered to fix it themselves). However, if you'd like to leave the logs in place, send me a line so that I am aware of it when I do points updates. This will help me in recalculating the distance.

Just thinking out loud here...

I think this needs to read a little different.

1. Points for caches visited will only be awarded once for a cache. Once a bug visits a cache, any subsequent visits to that cache will not count for points.

This makes it sound like THAT Cache - any subsequent visits to that cache will not count for points.

Since dipping is done by one cacher in a day, would this be better to read,

"any visits to another cache that day by the same cacher will not count for points."

Again just thing out loud

that's a tough call. At first, I thought it would score points for mileage and borders. But, if it isn't placed into a cache, how could those miles or border crossings count? Someone could easily take down a TBs number and travel far and wide dipping as they go. But the bug really didn't go anywhere. When it's finally placed, it could only be a few miles from where it was picked up. How does that get scored?
The TB owner may want to contact the current holder of the racer and politely explain the rules.
