April Points Updated

The April Race Standings have been updated. We are only missing one set of data, and as soon as that comes in we will update again. There has been a shakeup in the top 10 as Patriotic Find moves down several spots. Crafter of Wood TB1 took over as the current leader in the rankings by becoming the first entry to break 300 points. Coincidently, Crafter of Wood TB2 (I can’t remember which is the husband and which is the wife) happens to also be in last place. It has gone missing after placed in the first cache it visited after the starting event. Unfortunately, logs seem to indicate it is MIA.

This last month, all volunteers went through their respective TB’s and double checked all points. Most TB’s with mistakes in scoring went up in points, with a small handful losing a few points. Even I missed a point in one of my earlier updates, which should be a great example that mistakes do happen.

If you haven’t seen it already, one of the May bonus goals involves making a cartoon about the racing TB. It can be made with artwork or photos, but this can be a fun bonus goal. If your TB is in the possession of a cacher, or gets picked up in time, feel free to contact them and point that out. It doesn’t have to be elaborate and at the end of the month, we will take all of the submitted cartoons and enter them into a competition. The winner will get 30 BONUS POINTS added to their score.

With that, a good luck to all traveling racers as we move through May. And a reminder to watch the bonus goals when they are updated for June. Due to some planned goals for July, I will be posting both the June and July bonus goals together so that everyone, both TB owners and TB movers, can plan for those goals.

April Points Update

I am awaiting a few pieces of data and should have the April scores updated sometime this coming week. I felt I should give everyone a posted update as to why there is a delay…accuracy. Since we are now 1/3rd of the way through the year, I felt it was important to have all of the scoring volunteers double-check their work up to this point so that we can make sure our scores were accurate. Every month, I get a some e-mails asking about difference in scores. It has been about 50/50 as to whether the difference is a result of an actual mistake by the volunteer or a mistake in the owner’s scoring. As May rolled around, scoring volunteers have had a few months to learn the ropes. Hopefully, there aren’t a lot of mistakes but a few people have told me that they caught something they didn’t notice earlier. And surprise, even though I’ve been doing this much longer than they have, I even found a mistake on one of the bugs I keep track of.

So with that, I will hopefully have everything submitted in the next couple days. If not, I’ll post what I do have on Wednesday and update as they roll in like we did last month.

I hope everyone has been paying attention to the Monthly Goals. We have a unique goal this month related to artwork. This is a good time to make sure that your TB pages are updated with a link back to this site and a note about checking monthly goals for other interesting ways to further improve the score.
